Looking back over the last year, I’ve made a small selection of 100 of my best and personal favourite wedding photographs from 2014 – scroll down to enjoy.

2014 was one of the most enjoyable year’s of my life – and without doubt one of the hardest I’ve ever worked. I’ve been privileged and humbled to photograph some of the most intimate and important moments in people’s lives, as they made their commitment to marry each other. There have been some ‘roll on the floor laughing’ moments, I’ve cried a few tears more than could be considered professional, eaten a lot of cake, and made some truly great friends along the way. Memories which will stay with me a lifetime.

I’ve even been blessed with a handful of awards for my photos, from my peers at the ISPWP and Fearless Photographers. The vast talent and creativity of wedding photographers throughout the world just blows me away and continues to inspire me every day. In particular I continue to search for the ‘emotion and moment’ which my friend, the brilliant Daniel Diaz, re-awakened me to in the beautiful photographs he made at my little sister’s wedding in New York before the start of the year. I’ve even started teaching wedding photography, to help pass on to others some of the ‘good karma’.

On my 2014 wedding journey I was joined by my fantastic Assistant Photographer and friend, Claire Duggan. She’s been a rock – feeding me chocolate and her amazing homemade muffins, to keep me going on those evening creative shoots at the end of some very long wedding days. Always smiling, always bursting with creativity, and often one step ahead of me. She has blossomed creatively and has learned so much which she’s put straight back in to her photographs. And to top it all off she’ll be giving birth in just a few weeks from now!

The immensely talented Jane Beadnell (JB Creatives) made the long journey from Yorkshire to join me photographing some beautiful weddings ‘down South’. Jane has this ability to really see natural beauty and emotion, and captures it in her work. It has been a delight to spend some long days with her working alongside me.

How could I not mention the hilarious, the irrepressible and vastly talented, Natasha Dickson, (Yorkshire Hair & Makeup). Tasha is a truly superb bridal makeup artist with a sense of humour to match… unless she’s hungry, then the gloves are off. After working hard in her MUA role, she doubled up and helped as my lighting assistant during several very long days shooting in Paris. An absolute asset and great friend.

In 2014 my work has taken me from Notting Hill in London to the medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano in Italy, from the stunning coast of West Wales to the most romantic city in the world, Paris. As well as some fantastic venues in my home cities of Bath and Bristol. The stories behind each and every wedding I photograph in 2014 have been fun, moving and emotional. I have to thank the amazing couples who have entrusted me to capture the memories of this unique day for them.

Finally my darling Heidi. she wasn’t at my side this year as she’d been deployed to Afghanistan on an operational tour with the British Army as a Trauma Nurse. She saw things nobody would ever want to see, helped save lives, and consoled the comrades of those who didn’t make it. I missed her every day and was relieved beyond words when she came home safely.

2014, it’s been emotional. 2015 I’m coming for you, and I just cannot wait to see what amazing weddings, moments and people this year will bring!
