Cows, a blue bear in wedding shoes and a leaping bride!
It’s time for Claudia & Michael’s countryside wedding in Shropshire
I’m excited to share highlight photographs from this amazing wedding in Shropshire. Claudia and Michael got married at St Mary’s Church, Dudleston with a rocking wedding reception afterwards at the family farm in the Shropshire countryside.
Of course it rained – I would have been shocked if I’d ventured that far into Shropshire and it wasn’t just a little bit wet! But I was quite safe, they we’re ready for anything. These are ‘country folk’ – and you can keep your hunter wellies, they are the real deal! Claudia’s parents live in an incredible old farmhouse next to their working dairy heard at Kilhendre Farm, and this was where she grew up. Farming is in their blood, and I was so excited to spend the morning with them all as Claudia got ready surrounded by the love of her family in a place so very close to her heart.
We left the farmhouse and made our way the short distance to St. Marys for their church wedding ceremony. Where I joined up with my great friend and amazing documentary photographer, Emil Boczek, who’d joined me to help photograph this awesome countryside wedding in Shropshire. Emil had spent the morning photographing Michael and co. in the The Plough pub in Oswestry, shooting pool and playing darts over a few local beers, to ease their pre-wedding nerves.
It wasn’t the first time we’d met – Claudia is BFF with the gorgeous Danni, who married husband Simon (equally handsome) at their wedding at Lanston House which I photographed back in 2014 …are you keeping up so far?
The weather didn’t stop a hurricane of confetti as the newlyweds left the church and headed back to the farm, where their guests gathered in a huge wedding marquee on top of the hill, with the smell of the wedding breakfast cooking on an open fire outside. A truly brilliant party followed – don’t miss some of those epic dance floor moments! Congratulations Claudia & Michael! Enjoy, Rich xx
